CAMP HOPE 2015

CAMP HOPE 2015
FAUGE & BANATTE, HAITI

A team of 20 from Greenville, SC (Bridgeway Church) and Chesapeake, VA (River Oak Church) conducted a one week camp at Banatte, one of the schools where Nelly’s House provides meals throughout the school year. Approximately 140, 10-14 year olds participated in Camp Hope from 9am -1pm each day.

Camp Hope was designed to offer skills & spiritual development in a fun environment.  The children participated in a soccer clinic, art, expressive worship and other outdoor games. They collaboratively painted a giant mural of the cross on an exterior wall as well as painting numbers and letters in the kindergarten classroom.

Both boys and girls participated in large group worship time and also break out sessions in small groups by gender.  Small group discussions expanded into the ways that they could establish or cultivate relationships with Jesus Christ. Near the end of Camp Hope the missionaries set aside time to pray & bless each of the children. It was an exciting and impactful week. Nelly's House is grateful for the team who sacrificed their resources to humbly serve the children of Haiti. We also thank River Oak Baptist Church as a major sponsor of Camp Hope.
